Fantastic opportunity to work within a social welfare charity where your main focus would be to deliver Guidance and Advice services, through contracts to work with National Probation Service and increase employment prospects of clients by providing information, advice and guidance on education, training and employment opportunities. You will ensure that all ETE clients understand routes of access to government-funded training and provide each with a personal plan of action to meet these needs. You will utilize vocational and basic skills assessment materials and refer clients to appropriate training and development programmes. You will organize and conduct 1:1 guidance interviews and group work sessions to assist individuals to select an appropriate employment aim, will assist in the production of CVs including completion of application forms and will maintain up to date and comprehensive records of training and educational opportunities. You will also maintain accurate records in accordance with agreed procedures, have a willingness to pilot and adopt new working practices and take part in marketing and publicity exercise as required. To be suitable for this role you would ideally possess at least two years’ experience of a guidance or supporting people into employment role, be an effective communicator and a good listener. Knowledge of Matrix standard, personal safety and drug awareness, motivational interviewing skills and managing challenging behaviour are all desirable characteristics of the role. You would also be IT literate, maintain accurate record keeping and plan and organize workload to meet deadlines. |
