 Programme Head: Finance and Business

In the wake of the worst financial crisis in UK history how can we fundamentally change the way the financial sector works to prevent a reoccurrence, and to channel finance to where it is most needed? How can both the financial and business sectors become the key drivers of a truly sustainable and socially just economy? If these are questions you care about and have a passionate desire to help answer, we would like to hear from you. This is a unique opportunity to develop an exciting new programme area at nef (the new economics foundation) at a time when change in the City and the boardrooms of the UK have never been more needed. You will be able to draw upon our existing work on these issues and also reach out to establish new networks.

Your goal will be to develop a radical, innovative and practical programme of research that looks afresh at the challenges we face and build and manage a team to drive this work forward.

You will have extensive experience in the UK’s financial sector, with a particular focus on the City of London, and an extensive network of contacts that you can draw upon. To succeed, the post requires a strong entrepreneurial approach to rapidly develop the programme area, and a real commitment to our values.
